Lacoste extends its partnership agreements with Roland-Garros and the FFT
The extension of the partnership for the period from 2026 to 2030 is an obvious choice for Roland-Garros and Lacoste, given the deep links between their respective histories. The Roland-Garros stadium was built to host the Davis Cup in 1928, following the victory of the Mousquetaires, of which René Lacoste was a member, over the United States a year earlier. The founder of the iconic Crocodile brand and tennis legend left his mark on Roland-Garros by winning the tournament in 1929.
As part of the Paris Grand Slam, Lacoste, a loyal partner of the tournament since 1971, will retain its current visibility with space in the Village and on the Philippe Chatrier court, the Grande Boutique and 100 m2 of sales space throughout the stadium. The Crocodile brand will continue to supply outfits for referees, ball boys and girls, hostesses and children taking part in the “Entrée de rêve” operation, whereby youngsters accompany players to their seats as they enter the court.
The agreement also includes the design of a 100% eco-responsible co-branded collection, covering textiles, footwear, underwear and leather goods.
This new signature marks the Crocodile brand’s support for the FFT, through the renovation of training facilities at affiliated clubs throughout France, to promote the accessibility and appeal of the sport. Lacoste will also be working alongside the FFT to promote para-tennis by providing a number of wheelchair tennis players in the Open and Quad categories with equipment.
“Our presence at Roland-Garros for over 50 years is a natural fit for us, so inextricable are our ties. Being a partner of this French and world tennis staple is fully in line with Lacoste’s unique fashion-sport vision, which celebrates its tennis roots every day. Being part of Roland-Garros helps to promote our expertise and the French elegance we embody. We are delighted to continue our collaboration for another five years,” explains Thierry Guibert, CEO of Lacoste.
“We’re very proud to be extending our wonderful history with Lacoste, whether with Roland-Garros or the FFT, and thus ensuring the continuity of this unique and historic partnership. The Crocodile brand will continue to dress with elegance our marshals and referees during Roland-Garros, as well as all our French teams. We are also delighted that Lacoste is taking part in the “Mur de tennis” operation, which will enable the renovation of training walls, an initiative that should be particularly appreciated by our clubs,” explains Gilles Moretton, President of the FFT.
